Today (Aug 30,2025 Saturday) , the youth group gathered at St. Andrews Church for a gardening cleanup event. We worked together to clean up the church garden using gloves, rakes, and gardening scissors. The garden had been a mess for a very long time with weeds, dead plants, and overgrown roots everywhere. But with our teamwork, we pulled out the weeds, trimmed hardened roots, and cleaned out the dead and molded plants.
With a youth leader and three adult leaders managing the event, the youth volunteers quickly learned from each other and did their tasks. There was also laughter and plenty of breaks filled with fun conversations. By working side by side, the group grew closer and felt more connected as a community.
At the end of the day, the garden looked clean and beautiful again. The youth felt proud of what they had done not because the space looked better, but that they made a real difference together. This experience taught them about caring for the church and the power of teamwork.
The cleanup at St. Andrews wasn’t just about gardening. It was about building close connections with others, learning new things, and showing that small acts of service can leave a big impact.
Here is the list of volunteers who helped with this project.
